A New Definition for Tutoring:
More Than Tutoring - Crafting Success Stories!
At Tending Dandelions, we redefine what it means to be a tutor. Through an individualised, interactive, and thoughtfully designed curriculum, we build each child's confidence and celebrate their success.

Unlike generic services, we focus on quality over quantity. We are not just another tutoring service offering quick fixes or low-cost solutions. Instead, we provide an enriched educational experience that leaves a lasting impact.

Meet Emily
I am an experienced primary school teacher, having taught for over ten years. I am living my dream, having wanted to be a teacher since the age of seven! I have a passion for teaching and learning. I love all students, and particularly enjoy working with students requiring additional support or extension across the NSW curriculum.
I started this small business after stepping away from my teaching role at the end of 2023. It allows me to continue pursuing my passion for education while also creating precious time to spend with my two delightful young children, aged four and one.

I would love to have the opportunity to tutor your child, not only with a focus on academics, but also improving in confidence and developing a real love of learning. My hope is to equip and nurture children to be confident and successful learners.

I recently trained in the SoundsWrite spelling program and use this intervention program to teach my clients. It is research based and effective for improving spelling understanding and skill.

I received my Bachelor's degree from the Univeristy of Wollongong in 2011 where I was merit listed which is an award given to the top 5% of the course, then began working in an independent school from 2012-2023.

I have had the opportunity to have been involved in the following which have shaped my teaching career:
-
SoundsWrite Spelling Intervention Program (2024)
-
Debating Coach and Coordinator (2013-2020)
-
Inquiry Based Learning course (2015)
-
Harvard Visible Thinking course (2016)
-
Counselling Skills Webinar (2017)
-
Courses in Technology Skills (2017)
-
Positive Education Model (2017)
-
